Basically I'm Just Gloating

After eight months and 63,000 words I finally finished the first draft of my first novel last night (technically it's the second novel I've started, but the first one is still sitting around waiting for me to write Chapter 8). It's been hanging over my head for a while now, so it feels pretty damn awesome to have got it out of the way. It desperately needs another draft at some point, but that can wait. First I have a Cthulhu scenario to write. And a short story I only got halfway through back in September. And the other novel to go back to. And a video game article I'm re-jigging. And a script or two to think about. And...

Plus, obviously, a thesis.

Well done, sir. Gloating is free.

May we know which story? (If you'd rather not give details, then the space one, the tower one, etc.)

It's the sequel to Commanding The Kingfisher.

Congratulations! You are now officially a 'novelist'. Weird.

When do we get to read it?

Yes, I distinctly remember being promised I'd be even more annoyed by this one. A few more answers, an order of magnitude more questions. Hopefully we'll get to see it eventually?

Actually, maybe not as annoyed as I thought (or at least, not for that reason). I realised the characters were smart enough to work out some of what is going on by themselves. I think by the end of it there's about as many loose ends as there were at the end of the last one. It's the size of those ends that's different.

And yes, once I've given it the mother of all polishes, it should be available for viewing.
